The waning approaches...

And so we approach the final month of the year...December is coming on fast...It's coming on Christmas; they're cutting down trees as Joni said (more of her later) and the winter is a-coming... This week has been pretty good for the photography business - pretty good in one way I suppose...To add to last weeks news that Dreamstime added me to their exclusive contributor list I was notified by another client that they are going to use some of my images on a couple of calendars in 2016! This is good news commercially but the bad news is that I won't get paid for that until December 2015...hey ho...Still...I shall publicise the calendars when they are available (what this space in about a years time!!).

Of course the weather has once again been unkind with a week of almost permanent low cloud and rain...the day when it was cold and frosty my son Quinn was off school sick, so even then I couldn't get out for long...I did manage a few shots of ice flowers on our car...

the background colour s are the result of the surface of the car -pink for the painted bodywork; blue for the windscreen...I feel this is something I can experiment with more should we get more frosts...

I have also been working my way through my archive for images to submit...always reminds me of successful shoots in more suitable weather and trips to favourite places...

Some of the above you may have seen before...I hope you like them...

Also this week I had a booking confirmed for next Sunday - the Sing! Choir group are putting on a concert in Ely Cathedral and I am shooting the full rehearsal - with hopefully a shot from above looking down from inside the octagon...Of course I shall let you know how that goes as soon as I can...in the mean time you can keep up to date with my goings on here on Facebook or here on Flickr.

Now back to Joni...I have recently been reading the autobiography of Graham Nash - he of Hollies and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young fame...and whilst he was reminiscing about his past loves it suddenly occurred to me that all those beautiful songs written by Joni on Ladies of the Canyon and Blue were inspired by the same second rate, fly-by-night lucky journey man musician writing the book...I mean how can such a mediocre talent become so influential...much as I love those albums and each song I will never hear them quite the same again...Joni...how could you...

I hope you all have a good week...and I shall see you next weekend I hope. Now...have you got your Christmas shopping done yet?
